So the renovation on the new house has been going pretty well! We were going to clean all the soot off, but later decided to just re-drywall and then clean what’s left. This means lots of fun trips to the building department!
At first the demo was just a lot of removing drywall. Now we are getting down to taking out insulation and old drywall screws… nice and tedious! You can tell how much fun it is! I can’t wait until it’s time to paint! I will probably pull a lot more weight on the project when we get to that point. This demo stuff isn’t my strong suit… We still have a long way to go to get there, but in about a month, painting is definitely where I want to be!
Here are some pics from the first few days!
Above is the fiance, looking sooty as ever!
Below is a picture of the front living room, taken from the kitchen!
Dad, above. Grandpa, below – mowing the crazy tall grass with his tractor. The fiance’s dad is working on getting us a mower right now, but until then we have to keep making trips to mow the grass that is growing like wildfire.
And last but not least, my lovely Grandma has started planting some flowers for me out front! I love her so much! I know the inside of the house is more important right now, but I just really want to work on landscaping right now!! Haha!
So there you have it – the latest updates on the house. Next steps will be getting the drywall up and cleaning, cleaning, cleaning! We will have to clean the floors, the fireplace, and more. Plus we get to rearrange closets and configure cabinets! How exciting! 🙂 I can’t wait until we call this place home!
PS – I paid my last month of rent today! Wahoo! Now we just have to pay Richard’s last month and we are free! Freedom!!
